Welcome to Fall, Sponsors,
There was a great deal of preparation getting the school year up and running. Everyone has settled into a smooth schedule. The construction on the multi purpose building continues and the roof is being constructed this week. The wood had to be treated for termites prior to use and that was done last week.
This week at the admin meeting, we discussed starting a church so the farmers that cannot make it to the outreach sessions can attend a service on Sundays. We want to bring the gospel to the adults in our students’ lives. The building is funded and should be finished by the end of October where during the week our action bible classes will meet. There will be a stage for dramas and presentations to student body or PTA meetings with parents. What better way to use this building on weekends than a service that glorifies our Lord!!
We could use some help. Please keep in prayer ways that you might help financially to support this very important addition. We will need to order benches for congregants, we will need to put a cross on the outside of the building and provide music in Kpelle and bibles in Kpelle. These are all possible with funds. Any donations made can be gifted to Fairview Missionary Church/ Denta church. Bibles are $15, a set of 4 benches that stack is $350, and the cross on the wall of the church $350. We will be looking for a pastor to present the gospel in Denta every Sunday. We are praying to reach people in the bush for Jesus. Please pray that the supplies can be purchased and the people will come.
We have a new guidance counseling piece for the children 10 and up with Amelia Supu, Pastor Matthew’s wife. After the counselor we hired to present during the Purity week, we learned that many of the girls live in fear or have experienced trauma. This was alarming to me, so I sent a message to the counselor with several questions to get more detail. She did not respond, so Don had recommended Amelia when his family visited our church last month. It was proposed that Amelia build a relationship with the girls and Pastor Matthew with the boys for one session a month. We put the 10-12, 13-15 and 16 and up girls into groups. We did the same for the boys. This guidance and whole group counseling begins in October. Pray that we can get to the source of this fear and address it. We will reassess in December.
The new sustainability plan was implemented with the registration fee for each child. Several families paid part of the tuition and will pay the rest in February. It is a start of getting the parents to take their children’s education seriously enough to invest in their futures.
All letters for children need to be sent to Joan now. They are due in Denta by October 2. However, a letter to your child is never too late!
Thank you for all your support , love and interest in this ministry that our Lord leads!
Tracey
