Dear Sponsors,
We are facing some spiritual warfare in Denta. The Secret Society (SS), known as the “traditional way” is how Africans have been guiding their people for a long time. This was there way of life. So many of the parents of our students are still involved in this cultural norm in their communities. They rely on the medicine man for healing, good fortune and guidance in their lives. This medicine man is also termed the witch doctor. It is a dark society. They sacrifice children for good fortune, they use spells to initiate harm on their enemies, the young girls are taken at young ages to mutilate their privates to be “good wives”, and they worship Satan. Our students are hearing the word of the Lord and they are being saved, but the traditional influence is still in their lives. We do not know if their parents are pusing them into this life, but we believe that may be the case. They deny it because it is illegal to practice this traditional way of life, but it is hard to pull away when they have had decades of tradition passed down from each generation.
We are asking for your prayer. There have been rumors that the Chief of Denta, whom is Christian, should be removed from leadership because he does not support the traditional way. Our team says it is possible, but they do not think it will impact the school because we are registered with the government and abide by their rules. Any attack on our educational institution will be investigated by the government. However, having someone chief of the Denta that is not Christian could influence other families to return to their old way of life. The SS creates fear in people that they will be targeted by this underground group and the consequences outweigh the choice.
So, again we need to finish the multi purpose building to get the church started, so parents can live without fear knowing the Lord is their shield. We can Pray for this transformation and hedge of protection for the students, families, teachers and leaders that love the Lord. The Lord will fight these battles if he can hear our cries.
Here is the latest picture of the building. We are just finishing the roof, waiting on the windows and pouring the floors. So much has been done, but so much left to do. Thank you all for your continued support of this ministry and mission that the Lord has laid on many of our hearts.
It is in Jesus mighty name I write,
In His Service,
Tracey
