Fairview Missionary School
The mission of Hope for Home is to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Through time many missionaries and organizations have joined forces to meet the needs of the people in this region. The priority is to give them the opportunity to receive eternal life we are so blessed to share.
The Journey
Post-War Despair
The Riley Family went to Liberia after twenty years of back-to-back civil wars. The wars left the country in despair and in need of help. Many missionary groups went to Liberia to help rebuild. The land called Liberia was negotiated by the United States for recolonization of freed slaves. It was inhabited by seventeen different tribes at the time, and these people groups colonized the country.
Finding Denta
Don Riley worked with different ministries in Liberia, until he found Hope for Home Ministries, and he and his family began working to create a clinic, school and paired with His Safe Haven for the widow/orphan ministry on land purchased in Denta, Liberia. The site for the school is Denta, which is a remote village that is surrounded by other villages of Kpelle people that farm to sustain their own families. These people were not being educated nor churched, but simply surviving off the land.
A Unified Ministry
With the larger city like Denta nearby, it brings people from many tribes. Hope for Home, Liberia is made up of not only Kpelle people, but also many other tribes. It was Don’s dream to hire all Christian employees to work in all three pieces of the ministry regardless of tribal affiliation.
He developed a rigorous interview process to get to the “heart” of each applicant. Bottom line: Do you love Jesus and follow him as your spiritual leader?
Growth & Expansion
The school started with just a kindergarten class. Offering Denta village leaders free medical, education and a meal for the children in the area for exchange of 10 acres of land. It was negotiated, and a school was started. Over time the school has grown from just 30 children to 270 today.
Legacy & Partnerships
The clinic was gifted to Live2540, another ministry involved in rebuilding Liberia’s future. They have turned it into the Jesus Loves Me Center. The land Don purchased for Hope for Home, was also gifted to this organization, and they continue to work with His Safe Haven to meet the needs of the many orphaned children. His Safe Haven has turned this orphanage into a rehabilitation center that Liberians from all over bring their special needs children to learn how to meet their needs at home. It is growing! It is a beautiful ministry that are the hands and feet of Jesus.
Hope for Home, Liberia continues to keep the school growing and thriving by keeping our Lord, Jesus Christ’s mission alive. Fairview Missionary school is primarily supported by many generous sponsors from the congregation and a few other churches that Don Riley has influenced.

Fairview Missionary school is a ministry reaching impoverished children and families for Jesus, while ensuring a quality education to learn reading, writing, math, science and social studies. We have recently added art and a time for PE and music.
There are a principal and vice principal on the ground to ensure education is focused on achieving academic skills and learning to love our Lord. Any donations that are made here, will go to support the growth of God’s mission in this region.
